The Alkaline trio, this chicago band who was formed by vocalist and guitarist Mike Skiba who was fromaly an ex-Jerkwater drummer, Rob Doran (bass/volcals) from 88 Fingers Louie, and Glenn Porter (drums/volcals).

They were brought together with the same feeling, angry, and the love for alcohol. The issued For Your Lungs Only EP, when Doran lest the group later in 1997.Later they released sundials the following year on Johann’s face records. That’s when Slapsticks Dan Andriano took the rightful place as the bass, with his unique style and awsome volcals he added to Mike Skiba’s music that would be the blow out and kick ass style. They looking to name themselves all thourgh out the mid-west with their emotion-fulled, angry, and dark pop-punk. During this time Skiba and Porter, were working as bike messengers full time, their first full length ‘’Goddammit!’’ was released on Asian Man in 1998 and their fans followed them with relation to their heart breaks, and anti-cop rants. Then Maybe I’ll Cacth Fire and self- titled singles collection follwed in 1999. the new millennium came and the band changed. Glenn Porter left the group and ex-Smoking Popes drummer Mike Felumlee made it a three piece again.

From here to Infirmary came in spring 2001, ad was met with lukewarm fan response. Good Mourning was released two years later. The band line up was Skiba, Andriano, and new drummer Derek Grant, former member of the band suicide-machines. Jade tree also released 2002 spilt EP with the Trio, and Hot Water Music both giving original tracks and covers of each other’s songs. Good Mourning was a good success, it went up the Billboard charts and scoring Alkaline trio spots on late- night tv and summer tours. Crimson came in 2005. touring came that year as in support for the band My Chemical Romance and also as headliner. A spring 2006 tour with opening band Against Me! Devoted fans from early years that contained tunes from initial releases, including an entire run thourgh of fan-fave Goddammit!.
